The Antimatter of Not-Doing

Recently, a warrior asked an interesting question: “Very weird thought just entered into my mind, Della: You aren't making any of this up, are you? Is the reason you are so serious about all of this because you are hiding something?”

I’ve already talked about my infatuation with Adventures in Paradise as a child in Chapter Seven. When I told my Sunday school teacher that I had spent some time in Tahiti on a grand adventure with Captain Adam Troy, it could not be said that I was making it up with the knowledge of doing so. Instead, I had actual “memories” of being there – and I have no doubt whatsoever that I was there in second attention. The fact that I left my physical body back at home in bed scarcely seemed to matter. A shrink might have said I didn't know the difference between fantasy and reality. A sorcerer would have said that I was engaging in the manipulation of thought-form into energy into manifestation. I was creating reality.

As Carlos once said, what I am doing may seem unreal to many people, and so they would conclude that I am a liar. In their reality, that's what they have to believe in order to sleep at night. When you ask a sorcerer if she is "making it up", there's no answer that is going to satisfy all the participants in the play. Did I create Orlando out of the nothing? Absolutely. Ah, but is he real? Well, he is now. Was he real before I made him up? He is eternal and therefore exists long before I was born and eternally after I will die, it is he who is dreaming me, and that's what don Juan meant when he said "There comes a crossroads moment when you realize the double is dreaming you." He told me to make him up, told me his name, told me how to create him from my own heart – the double being willed into existence for the sake of love. That's how this path works, though it is only a tale of power even to most warriors.

It's been said that the first shaman created First Man and First Woman with a thought, and that she is actually both of those beings, split in two so he will not be alone in the world. I understand this because I am this. I created Orlando to create me, breathed him into existence out of the nothing with Will. Once I got over the notion that we are impotent slobs at the mercy of Fate, once I finally took responsibility for who and what I am (just a lowly nagual who is the most powerful being in the universe) you bet I made it all up. Creation only works from the inside out – meaning that we start at the core (self) and work our way out from there, into the infinite. There are no limitations save those we place on ourselves.
